Whispered Words of Wisdom, Captured From a Yielded Heart
Welcome to Whispered Words of Wisdom.
It’s no mystery that we, as Christians, want to make Jesus Lord Something holds us back and keeps us from confidently calling Him “Lord.” Our demands, wishes, and needs get in the way.
We know it’s not right, but we can’t seem to trust Him completely.
For me, accepting Christ was easy. But, making Him, my Lord wasn’t all that simple. Jesus was patient with me; it took me over twenty years to make that leap of faith.
A yielded heart
A yielded heart is this leap of faith.
It took me twenty years to find out how to trust the Lord this much and I don’t want anyone else to struggle as I did. I don’t want anyone else to withdraw from God’s outstretched hand.
Easier said than done.
It’s no mystery that we want to make Him “Lord.” Our hearts yearn for more, and yet we’re afraid to yield – afraid to surrender all. Taking that first step toward the Holy takes courage. To begin this journey to the heart of God is not for the faint hearted.
His touch is foreign to us; we’ve misplaced the ability to withdraw alone with God. Our shadow is void in the quiet places of sanctuary, behind closed doors.
The enemy of our soul knows only too well that in the presence of God our soul is refreshed, our minds calm, and our hearts set a right. We’re weary and tired and don’t know why.
Busy-ness is our enemy.
This what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says, “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.” Isaiah 30:15 NIV
The Secret Place
Behind closed doors, in the Secret Place, we find the Holy. Scripture forms our thoughts, regulates our actions and molds our lives toward the Holy.
Shallow knowledge brings shallow faith. Sipping at the well of a Sunday sermon or nibbling on a quick devotional produces emaciated souls in all of us. The enemy of our soul knows only too well that we’re easily satisfied with only a little at the sacrifice of abundance.
Enough!
We don’t have to take it anymore. A yielded heart is beginning of deep calling to deep. A yielded heart knows with a pure mind, sees with clear eyes and hears with open ears the Holy.
“The soul has eyes with which to see and ears with which to hear. Feeble they be from long disuse, but by the life-giving touch of Christ they are now alive and capable of the shortest site and the most sensitive hearing.” – A.W. Tozer*

Prayer for a yielded heart:
Father God,
I’m a Christian, and I know it. I believe in Jesus as my Savior. I’m struggling to make Him “Lord.” Please forgive me and help me. I want to know You more and make You Lord without any reservations.
As you are my witness, I relinquish all rights to self and yield to Lordship.
Take my hand to lead me on this journey. Thank You, in Jesus Name.
Amen
…….
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1 NIV
Lord, Create in Me a New Heart
How, you ask Do I find this yielded heart? How do I enter in? How do I know Him?
It is intimate Personal Real
Found In God alone Not ten easy steps Nor repeated prayer
Found in the silence Realized in the Secret Place Under the shadow of the Almighty
The “self” laid low God reigning on high
There is no yielding Without Him No yielding Without trust
Dare we choose our own way? Trust our own judgment.” The “self” has had her way too long
She cannot be trusted Let her go
Come Come before the Lord In the silence Of your soul
Broken Helpless Alone
It is costly Painful A great reward
Yield!
In return You’re enriched Renewed
Purified Separated God’s own child
You know The compass set at true North A heart hearing The still small voice
You’re transformed!
He hears the beating of your heart And your trembling lips Cry, “Here I am, Lord.”
He draws near
In the hushed silence Of your soul He moves to heal You move to worship
He must become more You less
Wait Wait on Him
Watch Watch as He births In you A new heart
A yielded heart Beating now to the rhythm Of the Master
The Spirit flows freely In the yielded heart The trembling soul Finds relief
Turn Turn to Him in awe In reverence Love He is your all in all
Eyes open to see Ears ready to hear Mind cleared to know Heart transformed
He is here!
How, you ask Do I find this yielded heart?
I say in the birthing Of your new heart.
One step forward He does the rest
Amen!
