Dear Sister Disciples,
As we continue in Luke, we will notice how the Lord sees our body – knows our eyes.
Reading Plan: Luke 11:33-36
“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, Your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it then that the light within you is not darkness. Luke 11:34-35— Luke 11:34-35
We behold what beholds us.
Jesus told us that the eye is the lamp of the body. We’ve also heard eyes are the window to the soul.
On the first day of creation, God spoke into existence was light. The world was formless and empty. Darkness was over the surface of the world, and the Spirit of God was hovering over it.
That’s a good description of the soul without the Lord?
Jesus is the light that lights our lamp.
What we see sees us. A diet of darkness is unhealthy. Letting our light grow dim is dangerous.
What our eyes light on makes a difference. We are as healthy as our inner lamp.
They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be shamed. Psalm 34:5 Thus says the Lord, “Stand by the way and see and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you will find rest for your souls.” But they said,” We will not walk in it.” Jeremiah 6:16 He who planted the ear, does He not hear? He who formed the eye, does He not see? Psalm 94:9 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Ephesians 1:18 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus the Author and Perfecter of our faith… Hebrews 12:1-2a
