A well-laid plan is only as good as its thorough and proper execution. The plan is merely a blueprint until the builders build the design.
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the LORD, thoughts, and plans for welfare and peace, and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Jer 29:11 AMP.
Thoughts and Plans
Imagine. God is thinking about you. What are His thoughts? God has plans for you. What are His plans? Honestly, what happens when your plans clash with God’s plans?
What happens when the builders go against the blueprint or codes or take shortcuts?
Well-thought-out designs achieve the best results. To appreciate the plan, we must value and trust the Planner. The builders must know the Planner’s intent for each design, seek His counsel, and obey His will.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer 29:11 NIV.
Plans Given
The promise is there — the plans written, but what now? Will memorizing the verse be enough or better yet, engrave it on a plaque? We see there’s a plan and even a Planner. We understand the intent of the plan and its purpose.
But what’s the plan?
Good question, and there’s an answer. Live, breathe in the breath of God to be near enough to hear His voice and close enough to see His plans unfold before you. Know, at His word, what to do. Be close enough to the Planner to do, on your part, what He wants you to do. Then, you can see the perfect and pleasing results.
Live the With-God life centered on God.
Where are the Plans?
Call His name if you have questions, misunderstand, or need clarification. He will answer you. He is not too busy and has an open-door policy.
Not only that, but he wants you to want what He wants.
Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you… Jer 29:12-14a NIV.
Seek the Planner
Seek the Planner; He knows the plans and His thoughts toward you. Trust me, you will find treasured, measured plans you did not know. We can only handle so much and the much He gives, we can handle.
Seek the Planner, and you will find the plan.
You will not find it if you seek Him halfheartedly only to gain a reward. You must execute the plan flawlessly alongside the Planner. It’s never too late nor too early to be part of God’s plans. Only the self-centered and disobedient will walk away empty-handed.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jer 29:11 NKJV.
Call, pray, seek, and search for God with all your heart, and you will find Him. Believe that He wants good things for you and has a plan for your life. With Him, we are wise enough to make our most important decisions by considering how God thinks about us. He thinks about us with nothing less than unconditional, unlimited love. Basing our decisions on how God thinks about us leads to a dramatically different outcome than we would ever expect.
We understand His ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts our thoughts. We see His ways, know His thoughts, and gain His perspective through acknowledging Him, reading His word, and prayerfully seeking His thoughts.
Thus says the LORD who made it, the LORD who formed it to establish it (the LORD is His name): “Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:2-3
God assures us that if we call on Him, He will answer us in ways that will astound us. God reveals Himself in three significant ways: in His creation (nature), in His Word, and through intimacy (see Psalm 19).
Entering the New Year
So, as we enter the New Year, we will work together as Sister Disciples to engage in Scripture and read the Bible in a year.
We will not play “hopscotch” from one book of the Bible to the next, but read it and seek the Lord. We will witness the fruit of our study and gain a more profound understanding of sacred Scripture and God’s plans for us.
Will you join me?
Thus says the Lord, “Consider your ways.” Haggai 1:7
The Path We’ll Take
Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful in one way or another — showing us the truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, and training us to live God’s way. Through the Word, we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. The Message 2 Tim 3:16-17
God has a plan for us in 2025. So, let’s seek Him and His Word. We will walk through 52 weeks in the Word:
The book we will work on for a year is Inside Story, 52 Weeks in the Word by TonyaAnn
The beauty of this journey is that we will work through the Bible by genre: Gospels, law, history, wisdom, prophecies, and letters. You choose the translation, begin reading the day and week, and then use the suggested questions for perspective. Could you make sure you have your journal? If you need to purchase the book (click the photo above for the link). Cost is $14.22.
Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established. Prov 16:3 NKJV.
Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established. Prov 16:3 NRSV.
I will still write an article weekly on the “Rhema Word” I’ve discovered. The only difference is that we will walk through the Bible together, not one book. We will additionally discuss what the Lord revealed to you about Himself, His ways, thoughts, and His plans as we go along. Trust me, the Holy Spirit will unfold and unwrap God’s wisdom, knowledge, and understanding like the most treasured gift.
Are you ready for this adventure? I am.
May the LORD bless and keep you until we meet again,
