Have you ever thought about listening to God? Are there echoes of His presence, and if so, is it even possible to capture the voice of God—to hear the echo of the Holy
It is possible.
But there’s no quick formula or ten easy steps. What is required is simply a devoted soul and a yielded heart. As you journey through these pages, you’ll discover that God is approachable and ready to speak. In the echoes He reveals so graciously and on time, His wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. It’s in sacred Scripture, and it’s always been there.
Allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Word and give you ears to hear what you need for life today.
The word of the LORD came… “Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it – the LORD is His name: Call to Me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” Jer 33:1a-3 ESV.
The word of the LORD comes. Every time you engage with Scripture, the Author is with you.
Just call out to Him and watch what happens. Call to Him in faith and wait for His response. God is not silent, as some suppose. He’s sending messages to the seeking soul. He willingly shows us great and mighty things that were unknown and hidden before.
Mystery is no mystery to the Living God. If we can distinguish only His voice, then we can recognize such knowledge and gain perfect understanding.
Imagine for a minute that the Lord’s voice is like an ultrasound that requires something to make it known. That something is the Holy Spirit, and He operates somewhat like an echocardiogram.
The echocardiogram creates a picture of the heart using high-frequency sound waves. Sound travels to the heart, bounces, and returns to the sender. The sender can see the heart and know what to do if the heart is not healthy.
The Holy Spirit is the sender piercing our souls, revealing our hearts, and sending the picture to the Lord. With an accurate picture of our heart, God then speaks to our soul in Spirit and truth.
We are incapable of hearing ultrasound. Our ears are not designed to pick up this sound. We hear the Lord’s still, small voice. Then He enables us to listen, and in listening, we capture echoes of the Holy. The key is an intimate relationship and a willing heart to know God and to know Him personally.
Here’s how I discovered echoes of the Holy.
Cultivating a love relationship takes time, but every moment is worth it. Seeking God’s favor requires us to make our time with Him our favorite time. If we want to know Him, then we need to hear His Word to seek the mind of God.
I share here on the website what I’ve discovered in the Secret Place. Every day, I’m gaining clarity and understanding as never before. The light shines on His word, and the breath of God is real. God’s voice never contradicts His Word.
His instruction and guidance are good, and His teachings are spot on. His correction and counsel are perfect. If you follow me on this website, you’ll find something different:
- Breath of prose
- Whisper of poetry
- Wisdom from sacred Scripture
- Voice of praise
His echo comes in treasured measures of wisdom, and I share it the same way. I confess, I wanted to know everything now, but He doesn’t work that way. It’s not because He’s “holding out” on us. Our finite minds can only handle so much of the richness of His wisdom.
My heart desires that you, too, can walk in the Spirit and stop to capture echoes of the Holy. Will you make it a priority to spend time every day in the Secret Place? This is that private room, with the door closed and free of distraction?
The secret in the secret place is the presence of the Holy Father God Himself.
But when you pray, go into your most private room, and closing the door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you in the open. Matt 6:6 Amplified.
Through contemplation, meditation, and a heart of reverence, it is possible to discover His Presence.
The Lord brings wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to the soul. What I’ve learned from the echoes of the Holy is too good to keep to myself. I want to share it with you.
I invite you to stop what you’re doing right now, go to the Secret Place, and wait on the Lord. Take a moment to quiet your soul and listen carefully. He is there with you. He’s as close as the breath you breathe and as near as the beating of your heart.
Can you hear the echo of your soul?
For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” Isa 30:15a.
