How’s Your Walk?

Christian life· Scripture Engagement· With-God Life

26 Aug

Read Ephesians 5:1-21 Introduction These passages, at face value, remind us that what we do and do not do matters. However, when we take a deep dive, we discover they point less to how we walk than to who we’re walking with. The closer we walk with God, the more our desire and appetite for sinful behavior will fade. You,…

Read Ephesians 4:25-31 Introduction I understand now why so many people call the Bible a manual on what to do and not to do. When I look at this passage: It seemed like every other list you would make for yourself so you can be a good Christian, until we note this truth in verse 30: And do not grieve…

Read carefully Ephesians 4:17-32 Introduction More than people of God, we are Christians; even better, we are followers of Christ — disciples living with God. Maintaining a loving relationship with God in Christ Jesus teaches us how to live this life. We are different — spirit, soul, and body. We are new creatures created in Christ Jesus. We need to…

Read Introduction Those who carefully read these passages will receive knowledge of why Christ brings spiritual gifts, as these passages contain deep truths. Read Ephesians 1:17-19b and Ephesians 3:14-21 Pauline Prayers Our Lord entrusted His word to Paul and, with an obedient heart, Paul passed on to us the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding we need to live the “with God” life. There are thirteen letters attributed to Paul in the New Testament, and a close look will reveal 4 separate Pauline prayers: What…

Read Ephesians 3:1-13 This was not made known to people in other generations as it is now revealed to His apostles and prophets by the Spirit: The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body and partners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. Ephesians 5-6 NIV. The Mystery? Paul, a prisoner of Christ, stops in the middle…

The Difference Christ Makes

Examine Ephesians 2:11-21 Notice that right way we are asked to consider the difference the gospel makes. We’re reminded what life was like without God. Remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God is the World. Ephesians 2:12 ESV…

His Masterpiece?

Christian life

3 Jun

Last week we focused on Ephesians 2:1-10 and discovered the “before” and “after” of the Christian life. But I just could not leave these treasured passages without focusing on one powerful passage: For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10…

Where Are You in Relationship with God?

Keystone verse for Sister to SisterDisciples

At that time, those who feared the LORD spoke to one another. The LORD took notice and listened. So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who feared the LORD and had high regard for His name. “They will be Mine,” says the LORD of Armies, “My own possession on the day I am preparing. .
